An On-Grid Solar System, also known as a grid-tied solar system, is a solar power system that is directly connected to the local electricity grid. It generates electricity from solar panels and supplies power for immediate use while sending any surplus energy back to the grid through a net metering mechanism. Unlike off-grid systems, it does not require battery storage, making it a cost-effective solution for reducing electricity bills. During periods of low solar generation, such as nighttime or cloudy days, the system automatically draws power from the grid. On-grid solar systems are widely used for residential, commercial and industrial applications due to their affordability, efficiency and eligibility for government incentives or subsidies.
